What are the responsibilities and job description for the English As A Second Language Teacher position at Astar Education Institute?
Astar Education Institute has immediate openings for a_ BILINGUAL_ ESL Instructor (Spanish/English) responsible for teaching a face-to-face adult English class with adults from a variety of backgrounds.
Classes are held at our campus in Manassas, VA in the evenings two days per week (2 hours per class). Students are from a variety of backgrounds and speak beginner level English.
** The days/specific times are flexible depending on your availability (example: Mondays & Thursdays from 6pm- 8pm).**
Essential Functions:
- Facilitate ESL classes in accordance with the student's level of language skill
- Maintain grades & attendance
- Create engaging lesson plans based on assigned textbooks that allow consistent improvement in all areas of language skills
- Administer quizzes and exams to students as appropriate based on your discretion
Qualifications:
- Prior ESL teaching experience preferred (a variety of experience/education can be substituted for this qualification)
- Ability to teach beginner-level ESL students
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
