ABOUT THE POSITION
The Technical Publications BOM Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining Technical Publications Bill of Materials (BOM)/Parts Books/Manuals in accordance with stablished business rules in an accurate, timely manner to support parts sales. The BoM Manager will supervise the BOM/Parts Book/Manuals administrators to ensure that the Parts Books/Manuals are accurate and contribute to Customer Confidence.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Technical Publications BOM Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining Technical Publications Bill of Materials (BOM)/Parts Books/Manuals in accordance with stablished business rules in an accurate, timely manner to support parts sales. The BoM Manager will supervise the BOM/Parts Book/Manuals administrators to ensure that the Parts Books/Manuals are accurate and contribute to Customer Confidence.
Deliverables & Responsibilities
- Verify BOMs from engineering and create files that will be uploaded into content management system/Parts Books/Manuals for customers to view and use to purchase parts.
- Manage drawing and bill-of-material changes for impact to publication data; schedule and incorporates changes into manuals.
- Manage Technical Publications department BOM/equipment changes and updates through an established change control process.
- Manage data flow for parent assemblies to component level for entire Product Life Cycle Management (PLM).
- Identify, address, and manage illustration requirements.
- Standardize parts books/manuals creation and maintenance procedures across IS division product lines.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure BOM accuracy.
- Work with suppliers to verify component availability and specifications.
- Serve as key member of corporate cross functional teams (i.e. Engineering, Parts, IT, Service, etc.) on BOM related special projects such as BOM restructuring, data cleansing, etc.
- Take a leadership role in cross-departmental projects to promote alignment and understanding of the Parts Books/Manuals development processes across the organization.

- Lead digital transformation initiatives for technical documentation development and accessibility,
- Represent Technical Publications at key meetings as instructed by, and or in absence of Director of Technical Publications.
- Develop/maintain BOM/Parts Books/Manuals administration tools (i.e. scripts, Missing Illustration Report, technical feedback system, etc.).
- Train team members on BOM and parts books/manuals processes and best practices.
- Standardize procedures for managing BOMs for creating parts books/manuals across multiple factories.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University in Engineering or related area of study and minimum 5 years' related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience in Technical Publications. experience in design, development, implementation, and management of technical publications programs for heavy equipment, industrial or other customer service-focused organization.
- Strong skills in data management, attention to detail, and knowledge of product lifecycle management systems
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Proven experience with ERP systems and BOM management software
- Knowledge of Solid Works and Composer.
- Microsoft Office Skills
- Project Management
