ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Operational Warehouse Customer Service Specialist to join our team at Astec Industries. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will provide exceptional customer service, support inventory management, and perform various administrative tasks to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
Deliverables & Responsibilities
Customer Service
· Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in-person
· Resolve customer complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner
· Provide product information, pricing, and availability to customers
Inventory Management
· Assist with receiving, stocking, and tracking inventory
· Verify inventory accuracy and report discrepancies
· Support cycle counting and physical inventory processes
Administrative Tasks
· Process customer orders, returns, and credits
· Generate shipping documents, packing slips, and invoices
· Maintain accurate records and files, both physical and electronic
Warehouse Operations
· Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations
· Assist with warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety initiatives
· Support special projects and initiatives as needed
System Responsibilities
· Release Transfers and hand out
· Send out status of transfers to expeditors
· Update task board
· Send emails for current CPU orders
· Put in transfers that are needed for MD and task board orders
· Communicate these to the appropriate people
· Investigate staged orders that are aged
· Review and update status of task board orders
· Investigate zero picks/aged orders released to warehouse
· Need access to:
o Oracle: manage shipment lines, confirm pick slips, manage reservations and picks, put away receipts, manage item quantities, review completed transactions, manage transfer orders
o OTM: ship confirm CPU, investigate staged orders
o RFSmart: receiving for transfers, packing to pack shipments that need ship confirmed
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
· 1-2 years of customer service and administrative experience
· Warehouse or inventory management experience a plus
· Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
· Physical ability to lift to 25 pounds and stand for long periods

WORK ENVIRONMENT Office
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of injury in an office environment and occasionally a manufacturing shop plant environment. Duties include a typical office setting including extensive computer work, sitting or standing.
