GigaGen, a subsidiary of Grifols, discovers and develops next-generation recombinant antibody therapeutics. Our core technology utilizes a microfluidic droplet system to capture and immortalize diverse immune repertoires, which can then be mined for exceptional monoclonals or enriched and used as high-potency polyclonal therapeutics. Our preclinical pipeline includes several recombinant polyclonal products for infectious diseases and a monoclonal antibody with a unique mechanism for oncology, which is entering the clinic.
We are seeking an innovative and motivated Senior Scientist II to develop and implement novel capabilities and assays (in particular those related to virology targets) to functionally characterize our therapeutic antibody drug candidates, and to help spearhead projects to continually improve and expand upon our internal capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Developing antigen expression systems to create target-expressing cell lines and pseudoviruses.
- Designing and performing in vitro viral infection functional assays.
- Analyzing data and discussing results at internal and external meetings.
- Brainstorming and troubleshooting research projects with other scientists.
- Researching the literature to devise novel application ideas.
- Writing protocols for new capabilities and training other technical staff.
- Assisting in data generation, curation, and writing for publications.
- Mentoring other staff in proper lab skills, experiment design, and data analysis.
- Identifying and evaluating external vendors.
