REPORTS TO: Fabric Team Leader
Schedule: Sunday – Tuesday, every other Wednesday. 6am-6pm
SUMMARY:
Without supervision, sets up, operates and performs maintenance, as assigned on production and non-production equipment within department. May instruct and/or direct the work of a variety of others. Keeps necessary records, reports and investigates rejects and failure patterns. Works to sketches, diagrams, drawings, written, verbal and visual instructions. Acts to maintain the integrity of processes and final product quality.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Maintain the integrity of processes and products with focus on Safety – Quality - Production
- Must be able to run most lines (learn new lines and upgraded lines)
- Team Leader responsibilities when needed (see Team Leader responsibilities below)
- Coach and train Team Members with regard to company policy
- Train and mentor new associates in process and line operation
- Train and mentor new associates E1 functions, making tags, issuing material, work hours, certs, etc.
- Train and coach associates on basic maintenance repairs, jams, flanges, wraps, etc.
- The ability to understand written, verbal and visual instructions
- The ability to perform accurate written and computer data entry (time, material, finish goods)
- Perform quality testing of material to ensure final product meets customer specification
- Participate in Continuous Skills Development, creating Visual Work Instruction and One Point Lessons
- Responds appropriately and maintains customer specification
- Performs required inventory functions (e.g. inquiries, updates, transactions, certs)
- Follow written Work Order instructions using proper materials
- Follow written SOC (Standard Operating Condition) maintaining quality and machine throughput
- Follow written SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) using correct packaging materials and tools
- Performs required tasks for product changeover to Standard Work
- Ensure production lines are operating to SOC
- Perform Layered Audits with focus on Safety, Quality and Production
- Set-up machine
- Understands all job hazards, demonstrates safe behaviors
- Able to maintain clean work environment (housekeeping, 5S) with little/no supervision
- Use of efficient time management skills to increase machine uptime
- Prioritize internal and external job functions to minimize downtime
- Advanced knowledge in Fabric processes and troubleshooting
- Must be able to perform all Operator I and II positions within Department and does so when assigned. Lines included in these categories are A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, Dilo
- Train and coach entry-level tasks (packaging, changeovers, housekeeping, fiber blending)
- Train and coach Needle Punch operation through visual work instructions and structured hands-on training

- Enforce FPM Safety and Company policy to Team Members.
- Set up Manpower to production needs.

- Communicate with other departments in regard to safety, quality, production, breakdowns, etc.
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
