What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver position at Aster Assisted Living of Clintonville?
A transportation employee is responsible for transporting residents, and others that may require transportation in a safe manner. This includes assisting passengers in boarding or exiting the vehicle. This person is also responsible for ensuring the vehicle is maintained properly in order to be safe and maintaining schedule transportation schedule.
TASKS:
- Drive gasoline, diesel, or electrically powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport residents, and other people as needed to scheduled locations.
- Follows safety rules and assists all passengers when boarding vehicle.
- Comply with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
- Check the condition of the vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs.
- Pick up and drop off passengers for regularly scheduled transportation events.
- Maintain the transportation schedule in a timely manner.
- Maintain appropriate fuel levels in the vehicle, and fill the vehicle with fuel when needed.
- Keep vehicle interiors clean for passengers.

- Emergency Vehicle Exits - Emergency Exit Doors
- Motorized Lifts - Wheelchair/Passenger Lifts
- Pressure Indicators - Tire Pressure Gauges
- Transportation - Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is desired, but not required.
- Must have acceptable driving record.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position listed above including the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, walking, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
