The Aster Springs Richmond locations provide residential and outpatient eating disorder treatment with housing options in home-like settings in peaceful surroundings. With a team of highly credentialed, experienced therapists, nutritionists, and other team members, we ensure that each client receives whole-person and multidimensional care that helps them progress towards recovery. Our compassionate staff works with each client and their family to create an individualized comprehensive care plan that meets their needs.
How You Will Contribute
The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for overseeing the medical operations of the facility. Ensures the optimal care of clients seeking longer-term behavioral health services provided by Aster Springs.
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Maintains frequent and close working relationships with clients, Executive Director, National Director of Admissions, Nursing, facility leadership, peers and vendors.
Outside the organization: May initiate and maintain working relationships with clinical providers, referral partners and vendors as needed and directed.
Position Responsibilities
- Provides compassionate and professional guidance to clients and referring professionals seeking longer-term behavioral health services.
- Serves as contact for guidance regarding client care, ensuring physician orders are followed.
- Oversee weekly treatment team meetings to coordinate care, communicate client needs and progress, and ensure consistent and quality care.
- Ensures programming is defined, coordinated, staffed and delivered in a manner that provides high quality care for Aster Springs clients.
- Provide oversight of utilization review process with personal involvement in difficult cases.
- Maintains client caseload and acts as primary practitioner for assigned clients.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining CARF accreditation medical standards and providing oversight to other staff to maintain their compliance.
- Represents Aster Springs at local, regional and national eating disorder-oriented events.
- Works closely with business office and direct care support staff.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications related to Aster Springs Mission and population.
What We're Seeking
- Licensed in the State of Virginia as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Dually licensed as a FNP and PMHNP is preferred
- Possesses working knowledge of psychotherapy, psychopathology, diagnostic assessment and related treatment interventions. Knowledge of evidence-based treatments and ability to individualize treatment approaches to meet each client's needs. Must be able to conceptualize and implement master treatment plan with fully developed problems, objectives and goals and monitor other clinicians to do the same.
- Experience in treating eating disorders is preferred.

Position requires incumbent to have a valid drivers license and vehicle insurance.
