What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue Cycle Analyst position at Astera Health?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Revenue Cycle Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in optimizing our financial operations by analyzing and improving revenue cycle processes.
This position is 80 hours bi-weekly, Monday - Friday. Astera Health offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life and retirement. This position has the ability to work in a hybrid capacity, with the knowledge that Astera Health may require on-site work located in Wadena, MN.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performs analysis on payer reimbursement and identifies reimbursement variances. Assists leadership in trending variances and identifying root cause. Assists Business Office leadership in resolving variances with all payers
- Works underpayments identified by Epic WQ’s and works with the payers to correct individual and systemic reimbursement issues
- Assists with identifying reimbursement issues that will have impact on payer contract negotiations
- Reviews insurance denials, and assists with appeals, resubmission, and root cause analysis to prevent future denials of the same class
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of HB and PB billing functions
- Assists with process improvement projects
- Performs a wide variety of data analysis and reporting
Competencies Required:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrates high degree of commitment to customer service excellence
- Strong computer skills, knowledgeable in Microsoft Office systems
Education and Experience Required:
- Associates degree in data analytics, healthcare administration, medical coding, or medical administrative assistant program with applicable certifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
