Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat asthma, allergic reactions, and other related conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervision physicians.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as skin prick tests, pulmonary function tests, and blood tests.
- Prescribe medications and provide patient education on proper usage and potential side effects.
- Educate patients and their families about disease management, including avoidance of allergens and the use of inhalers. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Ensure the clinic adheres to defined priorities and practices, helping the practice stick to the plan.
- Assist the practice in maintaining firm, clear, and communicative adherence to established protocols.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program and hold current state licensure in Rhode Island.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in asthma and allergy or related fields.
- Experience in a clinic setting is required; allergy clinic experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proven experience in conducting performance management and leading teams.
- Strong clinical skills in diagnosing and managing asthma and allergy conditions.
