About the Role
As a skilled Contract Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing contractual relations with clients and contractors. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain contract management processes and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Analyze commercial and financial impacts of correspondence received from clients and contractors.
- Support the preparation of strategies for commercial and legal negotiations with clients and contractors.
- Participate in meetings with clients and contractors to discuss contractual matters and prepare minutes.
- Prepare change orders and claims, and assist with reviewing cost proposals to ensure conformance with contracts.
- Interact with outside legal counsel as needed.
- Develop and maintain correspondence and change order logs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in law, business administration, public administration, engineering, finance, government contracting, or a related field.
- Minimum of ten years of related experience, with at least five years in a management or supervisory role.
Competencies
- Substantial experience working in public sector procurement management principles, government project administration, and government bid processes.
- Proven experience working on public works projects and construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of contract terminology, terms and conditions, procurement, and construction management.
- Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and document management software.
