Job Title : Assistant Controller

Job Responsibilities :
Supervise accounting and financial reporting for the residential apartment portfolio.
Guide and mentor the residential accounting team.
Ensure precise and timely preparation of financial statements for internal and GAAP reporting.
Oversee Affordable Housing portfolio reporting for lenders, JV partners, and government entities.
Perform detailed reviews of key financial statement activities.
Assist the VP of Accounting with consolidated and joint venture audit requests.
Examine monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for lenders and joint ventures.
Collaborate with operations and development teams for ad hoc reporting and analysis.
Prepare and maintain property tax tracking schedules and manage payments.
Communicate month-end tasks and reporting with the operations team.
Enforce and implement accounting policies and procedures.
Support IT system rollouts and enhancements with the VP of Accounting.
Continuously seek improvements in accounting processes, systems, and financial reporting.
Prepare and maintain member capital statements and tax packages.
Skills and Qualifications :
Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Public accounting experience, highly preferred
Property or REIT experience, preferred
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
Ability to facilitate collaborative interactions within and between departments.
Capable of independently planning and prioritizing multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines.
Adaptable to change with a positive and professional attitude.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $140000.00 / yr.
