Job Description
The Buyer will primarily focus on purchasing with the goal of achieving cost savings. This role involves analyzing data to understand current spending and identifying potential savings opportunities.
The Buyer will vet vendors via RFQs, conduct performance and market testing, and perform scenario planning to determine the best purchasing options.
Collaboration with the Director of Finance, another Material Buyer, and a Master Scheduler will be a daily requirement.
The Buyer will target cost savings for engineering and quality first, followed by shop floor support, which may include investigative questioning on the floor to understand material and supply priorities.
Responsibilities
Analyze data to identify potential cost savings in purchasing.
Vet vendors through RFQs to understand purchasing options and costs.
Conduct performance and market testing, as well as scenario planning.
Collaborate daily with the Director of Finance, another Material Buyer, and a Master Scheduler.
Target cost savings for engineering and quality, then move on to shop floor support.
Investigate on the shop floor to understand supply and material priorities.

Work Environment
The role reports to the Director of Finance in a high-accountability environment where learning from mistakes is crucial.
There is significant room for growth, with the potential for the Buyer to join the executive leadership team and have scheduling report to them.
During the contract period, the Buyer will receive 2 weeks of vacation and 6 paid holidays.

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $40.87
