Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to ensure patients' prescriptions are entered accurately and in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines, verify patient information, and check for duplicate orders. This role requires adherence to company policies and procedures and involves performing a 'PD3Q' check before finalizing orders.
Responsibilities
Ensure patients' prescriptions are entered precisely and in a timely manner.
Maintain confidentiality guidelines of HIPAA.
Verify that patient name and date of birth match on prescriptions.
Check patient history for duplicate orders and follow proper procedures.
Adhere to and enforce all company policies and procedures.
Perform a 'PD3Q' check before finalizing and sending the order.
Clear the Item Entry voicemail box daily.
Essential Skills
Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the state of Kentucky.
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of one year of pharmacy experience.
Experience in data entry.
Ability to type 25 words per minute.
Ability to enter 30 prescriptions per hour.
Attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple activities or interruptions simultaneously.
Effective communication skills, with patience and courtesy.
Ability to work independently with little supervision and meet daily deadlines.
Ability to perform repetitive work accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with fulfillment, inventory, filling prescriptions, and compounding.
Focused team player capable of working in conjunction with pharmacists, other departments, customers, and management.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00
