Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for general ledger account reconciliations and workpapers, trend analysis, weekly and monthly journal entries.Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and record weekly sales from the billing system
  • Prepare weekly reports such as Cash Posted, A / R Reserve, and A / R over 90
  • Prepare monthly accounting journal entries
  • Record monthly regional journal entries
  • Performs financial statement review and trend analysis for corporate departments
  • Prepares general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations and workpapers
  • Other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements :
  • BS / BA in Accounting / Finance or Certificate in Accounting preferred
  • Hands on general ledger experience a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and well organized
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) applications
  • Larger ERP experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Strong computer and database management skills.
  • Proficiency with automated systems and willingness and ability to learn new software packages.
  • Five years of progressively responsible grant accounting experience.
  • Experience working with Federal, State and County Grants.
  • Experience working with Sage Intacct software.
  • Experience in a nonprofit accounting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform multi tasks in an environment where priorities can change rapidly.
  • Ability to assist / train co-workers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to change.
  • Ability to thrive and excel in a growth environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills as well as working on a team

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 / hr.
