Survey CAD & 3D Modeling Technician
Astra Surveying is seeking a skilled Survey CAD & 3D Modeling Technician to join our team in Orlando, Tampa, or Jacksonville. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Trimble Business Center software for Survey CAD and 3D Modeling
- Strong understanding of the heavy highway / heavy civil industry
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
- Accountability for specific performance
- Strong analytical skills and proven aptitude
- Conscientious about assignment timelines and work quality
- Goal-oriented and self-driven, thriving in fast-paced environments
- Strong interpersonal skills for professional interaction at all levels
- Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision
Responsibilities:
- Create 3D models/surfaces of construction projects (roadway, highway, bridge) using AutoCAD Civil 3D or Trimble Business Center
- Convert 3D models into machine control files (SVD, SVL, .DC, .CAL, .DSZ)
- Create Horizontal and Vertical Alignments (XML, .RXL)
- Generate linework and/or stakeout points for construction project surveying
- Analyze and compare cross sections to project drawing plans
- Generate quantities for roadway, highway, bridges, and sub-grade
- Perform takeoffs for roadway, highway, bridges, and commercial construction sites
- Deliver DXF linework, XML, or TTM surfaces
- Periodic weekend or evening work as required
