What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Contract Operations position at AstraZeneca?
The Director, Operations is responsible for Utilization Based Contract Operations, including the end to end process from contract development through execution and the processing of rebate payments to managed markets customers.
The Director is responsible for managing relationships and complex projects within AstraZeneca to provide critical and strategic analysis across all areas. The Director will influence business decisions through strategic and financial modelling. This individual will need to fully understand Market Access and all the external factors impacting the operations. They will be responsible for all final accuracy of Market Access Contracts, Payments, and ensuring Compliance and SOx Controls are adhered to.
Typical Accountabilities:
Maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of entire book of business including, contracting, strategies, customer designations, rebates, corporate initiatives and systems.
Influence key stakeholder decisions within AstraZeneca relating to the operations of a Strategy.
Responsible to ensure all methodologies and requirements are established, documented, and meet compliance and audit requirements.
Review and approve all system settings and SOP’s.
Review and approve all Contracts and Rebates accordingly.
Partner with Portfolio Contract Strategy, Payer Team & Access Strategy, to understand current contracting activity and translate potential impact to Contract Operations.
Work with the Audit and Compliance Manager to provide information for internal and external audits.
Review of SOX requirements.
Manage the day to day workload of a team and provide guidance and direction in terms of work priority, project milestones and deadlines
Ensure that staff is fully trained to utilize the system efficiently, and recommend upgrades as appropriate
Participate in industry related meetings.
Partner with Finance to provide Accrual True Up’s and Cash Flow Forecasting
Essential Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree; preferably in a relevant field
5 years of pharmaceutical or related healthcare business
Financial Acumen
Understanding of Market Access and Healthcare delivery
Analytical skills including problem solving, forecasting, contract development and financial modelling
Demonstrated abilities to influence with and without authority, lead teams and develop/foster relationships with senior leadership
Strong Organizational and Time Management skills
Preferred Requirements:
MBA
Thorough understanding of AZ business model
Working knowledge of Model N
People Leader experience
