The Materials Management team is responsible for the planning, procurement, warehousing, and distribution of GMP raw materials required to produce clinical trial material. Some of the key responsibilities of the team are material master data creation and maintenance, crafting master specs, planning and procuring materials needed for clinical trial production, shipping drug substance, cost analysis, cost reduction, trouble-shooting supply issues, new material introduction, and storage and distribution of GMP raw materials.

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $82,463 to $123,695. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Accountabilities
- Responsible for Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and maintaining material masters in SAP PP and MM modules in the Gaithersburg clinical development facility
- Responsible for procurement and management of raw material inventory to support clinical campaigns, work with suppliers on managing raw material dock dates, and escalating potential material shortages promptly
- Maintain inventory carrying cost that is in line with the established department goal
- Review and resolve raw material exceptions, review and update planning parameters in SAP Material Master (MM) as historical usage changes
- Develop analytical tools that build efficiencies in managing raw material supply, analyze historical data and forecast to maintain optimal raw material levels required to support production
- Must have a sound knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing recipes, load and validate BOMs
- Authors raw material specification, Rationale of Specification (ROS), SOPs, Change controls, and deviations in AZ’s Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS)
- Work with the global team on supplier KPIs as needed
- Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management in a cGMP manufacturing environment and working in SAP Supply Planning modules
- Expertise in data analysis in MS Excel and dashboard creation
- Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain Management
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational, people leadership, and management skills
- Robust problem-solving abilities
- Master's degree is preferred
- A degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Operations Management, Industrial engineering, Biology, Biotechnology, or other Scientific disciplines is preferred
- CPIM Certification or CPIM training
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools
