Position Overview
Astria Therapeutics is dedicated to bringing hope with life-changing therapies to patients and families affected by allergic and immunological diseases. Astria’s pipeline includes our lead program, Navenibart, a monoclonal antibody inhibitor of plasma kallikrein in clinical development for the treatment of hereditary angioedema, as well as STAR-0310, an OX40 monoclonal antibody antagonist currently in pre-clinical development for atopic dermatitis (AD) and being explored for other allergic and immunological diseases.

The communications summer intern will report to the Sr. Communications Specialist and work with all members of the Corporate Affairs department, as well as other business partners company-wide providing assistance on various communications and corporate affairs related projects for the organization.

Overview Of Role
The communications summer intern will report to the Sr. Communications Specialist and work with all members of the Corporate Affairs department, as well as other business partners company-wide providing assistance on various communications and corporate affairs related projects for the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support the creation and distribution of internal and external communications content, including social media posts, written materials for both scientific and patient-centric conferences, employee newsletters, and updates to our corporate website.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of company events, including Team Meetings, speaker series, corporate cultural events, Lunch & Learns, etc.
- Lead independent research projects surrounding competitor communications initiatives, opportunities for earned, paid, and shared media coverage, best practices in internal communications, and beyond.
- Support the communications team in fielding and fulfilling inbound requests for content development/refinement, material reviews, facilitation of the internal review/approval process, event planning support, and other various inquiries from functions across the organization.
- Monitor industry trends, news, and media coverage of Astria to inform biweekly reports to the communications team and, when appropriate, broader internal audiences.
- Keen attention to detail, comfortability engaging with employees and executive leaders across a variety of functions, confidence in contributing to multiple workstreams in parallel, exhibits professionalism and thoughtfulness.
- Demonstrated interest in corporate communications, social media, brand strategy, storytelling, and/or employee engagement with a desire to both learn new techniques and hone existing skills alongside a small, supportive team.
- Passion for helping others and enthusiasm towards Astria’s company values, demonstrates a positive and can-do attitude, ability to navigate changes in timelines, strategies, project deliverables, etc. and think on their feet.
- Prior professional experience and/or relevant coursework focused on public relations, marketing, media, life sciences, public health, advocacy, or a similar field preferred.
