Clinical Laboratory Technician
At the direction of our research team and following detailed protocols to ensure safely and effectiveness, this role will:
- Prepare, organize, store, and work with chemicals substances integral to our clinical protocols
- Receive, label, and and prepare patient blood specimens
- Following scientific methods, conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify or reject hypotheses
- Execute clinical trials according to standard operating procedures, make observations, and assist in the interpretation of findings
- Monitor and maintain the proper environment and media to culture cells in an incubator
- Prepare plates and patient samples for genetic sequencing
- Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
- Provide feedback to assist in continuous improvement of our methods
- Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment
Skills Required
- Associate degree in laboratory science or proven on-the-job training in a lab technician or relevant role
- Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, biohazards etc.)
- Knowledge of quality, environmental, health, and safety management systems, preventative measures, and laboratory best practices
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (especially Excel)
- Ability to work autonomously and to follow instructions carefully
- Medical Laboratory Technician certification or postsecondary education in biology, chemistry, or relevant field of study is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
