We’re looking for passionate, innovative minds to help us shape the future of space exploration. Join a diverse and dynamic team working side by side with NASA on groundbreaking missions that push the boundaries of what’s possible. As NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider, we’re on the front lines of deep space exploration—and we need your talent, energy, and vision to help us go further.

What You’ll Do

As the Materials & Processes Systems Lead, you will be at the heart of spaceflight innovation, guiding the materials and processes that make our missions possible. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on materials selection, process control, corrosion prevention, electrical bonding, and safety standards for intravehicular (IVA) and extravehicular (EVA) environments.
  • Supporting hardware development and review, risk assessments, anomaly resolution, and flight testing.
  • Shaping design and engineering strategies by implementing M&P system requirements.
  • Collaborating with teams to verify requirements, qualify vendor processes, and provide manufacturing and inspection support.
  • Presenting technical findings and recommendations to program boards and leadership.
  • Ensuring that all materials and processes meet NASA’s rigorous standards for human spaceflight.

What You Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Metallurgy, Materials Science, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Systems).
  • 7 years of experience in Materials & Processes, preferably within space or aerospace sectors.
  • Expertise in both metallic and non-metallic materials, space-grade process specs, corrosion prevention, failure analysis, and contamination control.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess technical risk and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • The ability to thrive both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering.
  • 10 years of experience in spacecraft M&P engineering.
  • Proven leadership in directing technical teams.
  • Previous experience with NASA programs or human spaceflight systems.
  • Familiarity with flammability, oxygen compatibility, thermal systems, and electrical component materials.

This is more than just a job—it’s your chance to be part of something extraordinary. Let’s build the future of space exploration, together.
