You will collaborate with other missile defense experts - military, government civilians, and contractors from Astrion and other companies. Our team of experts helps the Government manage planning, development, analysis and delivery of state-of-the art sensors, weapons, communications, and command/control systems.

Position Overview/Tasks
This position serves as a Mission Engineer providing direct support to the Missile Defense Agency Directorate of Test, Wargames and Exercises Division (MDA/DTW). Tasks will include:
- Performs all event integration based on requirements from the Mission Director and Event Lead
- Supports development/integration of the blue force laydown, voice and data communications, specific operational software versions or capabilities
- Drafts and publishes the network architectural drawings and test plans to ensure the event architecture meets the requirements defined by the Combatant Command and MDA subject matter experts; translates customer requirements into architecture capabilities
- Performs as Functional Director of integration activities defined within the test plan
- Assists modeling and simulation development teams in the design and implementation of model behaviors within the simulation architecture; work products include SV-1, SV-2, communications diagrams, floor plans, rack elevations, test plans, event reports and problem reports
- Coordinates testing results; obtains assistance identifying new requirements, problems, and fixes for simulations resulting from Chief Engineer analysis/testing
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field
- 7 years of recent relevant experience
- Eligibility to obtain at least a Secret security clearance
- Experience working in a fast paced, professional environment with the ability to adjust/react to short notice requirements
- Proficient with the MS Office suite of tools
- Capable of providing test engineering support on systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices and/or processes for developmental and operational weapon system programs during developmental and operational test events, including flight, HWIL, and operational environments
- Capable of working as a team member to solve engineering problems
- Possesses general technical and theoretical knowledge of the DoD principles of developmental and operational testing and the verification and validation activities of the engineering “V”, system test and integration, strategic planning, and/or process improvements
- Works as a member of team to solve test planning, integration, execution, and analysis problems
- Has a basic knowledge of Missile Defense System components and system-level topics
- Must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time
- Experience with MDASim, EADSIM, Linux OS, PiNT, Operational System Framework (OSF), Open Systems Architecture Sensor Models (OSM)
- Experience with DoD test processes and/or test execution
