Job Description
We are seeking a talented Food Scientist to collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and cross-functional departments to develop, refine, and bring new pet products to market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Vendors to develop and refine product concepts from idea to execution.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Regulatory teams to define product specifications and ensure successful market launch.
- Review packaging and artwork for compliance with regulatory requirements, including weight, ingredients, guaranteed analysis, claims, and relevant guidelines.
- Support the development of formulas and perform ingredient analysis to maintain product quality and safety.
- Lead analytical testing processes and manage both in-house and third-party lab verifications to ensure high product standards.
- Track and analyze industry trends in both the pet sector and broader consumer markets to drive informed product decisions.
- Contribute innovative ideas to enhance existing products and develop new solutions, fostering continued company growth.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest FDA, USDA, and AAFCO regulations, ensuring compliance and maintaining leadership in the industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Science or a related discipline.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment, particularly within the pet industry, is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food regulations and compliance standards.
- Skilled in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with excellent project management abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
