We are seeking a Manufacturing Associate for our biotechnology client in Kent County, RI! This role is responsible for assisting in pilot plant operations, such as downstream purification and large-scale harvest operations. Shift: 7:30 am-4:00 pm (Mon-Fri)
Pay: Up to $25/hr
Type: 12-month contract
Responsibilities
- Supports the execution of cell culture processes, including, but not limited to, aseptic vial thawing and cell culture flask passaging in a biosafety cabinet, operation of benchtop wave bioreactors, and 200L and 500L single-use bioreactors.
- Assisting with large-scale harvest operations and downstream purification, including, but not limited to, chromatography, filtration, and Ultra-Filtration/Diafiltration (UF/DF) using various pilot-scale skids and equipment.
- Routine tasks may also be performed, including, but not limited to, in-process sampling, operation of laboratory analyzers, sample management, data collection via electronic laboratory notebooks, preparation of media and buffer solutions, Clean-In-Place (CIP), Steam-In-Place (SIP), equipment assembly and disassembly, routine maintenance of benchtop analyzers, vendor oversight, and general lab organization and cleaning.
- The role also includes performing laboratory safety evaluations and minor equipment maintenance, helping maintain lab standards with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline
- Prior experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work weekends
- Prior hands-on experience in pilot- or large-scale cell culture or downstream purification process development or manufacturing.
