Our client, a leading global consumer-centric medical device company, is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant. This is your chance to work with a global company with nearly 13,000 employees located in 30 countries
Type: Contract
Pay: $55/hr-$68hr
Travel less than 15% domestically
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 2 years of accounting experience required. Manufacturing background
- MBA / CPA license preferred but not required
- Experience with ERP systems, ie Microsoft D365, SAP, or Oracle
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products to include Excel, Word, Outlook
Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly closing activities including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and analysis related to areas such as Capitalized Variance, PPV, In-Transit, Freight, etc.
- Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of the transactions for variances across various ERP systems
- Proactive investigation of manufacturing variances including earned machine and labor hour absorption, scrap, capitalized variances, PPV and E&O inventory.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting Policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Assist in documentation of domestic processes/policy design, development of procedure manuals and standard operating procedures
- Prepare and review obsolete inventory analysis
- Partner with supply chain to improve cycle count results through root cause analysis.
- Document and implement the yearly cycle count procedures.
- Strong knowledge of bill of material and routings in a standard cost system.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and generally accepted accounting policies
- Expert skills in Excel spreadsheet (i.e. Pivot tables, v Lookup, SUMIF and other Excel functions) and competence with other Microsoft Office applications
- Key contributor to ERP upgrades and improvements
- Demonstrated ability to partner with functional leaders toward a common goal of achieving business objectives
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify key drivers of financial performance, particularly in a manufacturing environment
Salary : $55 - $68
