Key Responsibilities :

Oversee inventory control for consumables, chemicals, samples, and materials, ensuring accurate tracking and management both on and off-site.
Perform cycle counting, monitor slow-moving and dead inventory, and assist with annual physical inventories and reporting.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain communication with customers regarding inventory management.
Support purchasing tasks, including managing backorders, expediting, handling quotes, and resolving invoice or pricing issues.
Manage order entry, reporting, metrics tracking, and cost savings efforts for customer service.
Coordinate shipping, troubleshoot routine issues, and oversee equipment inspections.
Safely manage hazardous materials, ensuring proper packaging and shipping documentation.
Work closely with customers, including purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers, to address inventory needs.
Handle consigned, non-consigned, and customer-owned or third-party inventory.
Utilize Avantor and customer systems (SAP, Citrix, Intranet, Avantor Inventory Management Systems) to complete tasks.
Ensure safety, performance, and quality objectives are met.
Develop and improve service efficiency programs.
Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and document change management.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Education : High School diploma or GED required.

Experience : 2 years of experience in material handling, inventory replenishment, or customer service.

Certifications / Training : Spill containment, IATA, DOT, IMDG, OSHA Right to Know certifications a plus.

Skills :

Cross-referencing and inside sales experience a plus.

Knowledge of scientific products and services is beneficial.

Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Travel : Some travel may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Ability to meet company and customer requirements for background checks, health and safety, and security clearances.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), with intermediate computer skills.

Strong understanding of shipping, inventory, or purchasing processes.

Excellent customer service and professional communication skills.

Strong focus on safety, quality, and adherence to protocols.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Working Conditions :

Environment : Office setting with adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal temperature / noise levels.

Physical Effort : Walking, standing, bending, and carrying objects (typically under 20 lbs.).

Workload : Ability to manage a frequent work volume and meet deadlines.
