The Opportunity
Join us in establishing a new, state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing facility in beautiful Panama City, Florida! We're seeking a highly motivated and skilled Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in developing and implementing cutting-edge manufacturing technologies.

Project Support – 90%
- Define requirements for the advanced manufacturing facility, including equipment, layout, and infrastructure.
- Lead the acquisition and installation of advanced manufacturing systems, including additive manufacturing equipment, CNC machines, heat treatment, finishing, and joining technologies.
- Develop and implement robust quality and qualification protocols for all manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with industry partners to define and execute research tasks.
- Contribute to the development of new manufacturing processes and applications.
- Provide expert technical support to production teams.
- Maintain operational security by following established procedures.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.
- Organize technical workshops, meetings, and events.
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends in advanced and additive manufacturing.
Business Development Responsibilities – 10%
- Partner with the Northwest Florida Panhandle community and ASTRO America colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Contribute to proposal writing and business development efforts.
- Participate in cross-functional team initiatives.
- Cultivate positive relationships with government, industry, and academic partners.
- Represent ASTRO America at relevant events, conferences, and forums.
What we Expect form You
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Science, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in advanced or additive manufacturing, or an advanced degree with 1 years of experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment relevant to aerospace and US Defense applications is a plus.
- Proven program management experience.
- A strong understanding of advanced manufacturing technologies, including additive manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software and 3D printing technologies.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to meet the requirements of a US Government Contractor, including the potential to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- A master's degree in a related field.
- Experience with process simulation and optimization.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Experience working in both R&D and manufacturing environments.

Ability to commute or relocate:
- Panama City, Florida. Must be able to reliably commute or relocate within 1 month of starting position.
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in advanced or additive manufacturing OR an advanced degree with 1 years of experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment relevant to aerospace and US Defense applications is preferred.
