- Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties, composition, structure, relationships and reactions.
- Writes and updates documentation such as protocols, reports, test methods, SOPs
- Devise and conduct experiments to solve increasingly complex problems.
- Maintain a clean working laboratory environment as well as properly working equipment. Ensure that all instruments that required periodic calibration and validation requirements do so per laboratory calibration/validation procedures.
- Comply with all laboratory, company, state and federal safety regulations.
- Independently process, analyze, and interpret results and data in specific area.
- Document work continuously according to standard practice.
- Support Technical Services requests to evaluate field complaints in specific areas.
- Support Operations in evaluating product inconsistencies & providing disposition
- Help guide new and junior team members within the lab. Be a resource for escalations and problem solving.
- Consistently uphold Company culture through positive communications, managing conflict and fostering an open and constructive environment.
- Demonstrated analytical ability in specific area, well organized, detail oriented, and systematic in documenting results.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to present and write reports.
- Ability to organize and present results in a clear concise manner.
- Computer skills: Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook and other specialty software systems as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- The ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Project management experience
- Proven track record of innovation and problem solving.
- Detail orientated and excellent time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Significant experience with oil field chemicals, specifically upstream oil and gas water treatment
- PhD preferred
- Ability to interpret data from advanced analytical techniques to solve problems (GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR, GPC, XRF, ICP, etc.)
- Comfortable working in a production environment
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The desired candidate will be outgoing, creative, a self-starter, and team oriented
- The candidate must be able to operate independently and as part of a high-functioning team
REQUIREMENTS
- Possess a B.S. in Chemistry or Biology, or equivalent physical science with 5 years’ experience in analytical chemistry.
- Two plus years hands on experience with HPLC/GC, Titration, Wet Chemistry.
- Able to write/update documentation such as protocols, test methods, SOPs, etc.
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s time. Ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results
Physical Requirements:
- Lift: Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Push/Pull: Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds.
- Standing: Must be able to stand at least 50% of the day.
- Sitting: Must be able to sit at least 50% of the day.
Travel:
- May require Domestic travel as needed <10%.
