What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Polisher position at Astro Industries?
Duties include but not limited to:
· Operates manual lathe to obtain desired polish on parts and products
· Prepare surfaces for further finishing
· Move controls to adjust, start or stop equipment during polishing
· Use of hand tools/hand help power tools
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
· MUST be mechanically inclined
· Knowledge of running a manual lathe a plus but not necessary
· Stand on your feet for 8 or more hours at a time
· Frequently required to lift and/or more 50 pounds & occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all unites of measure
· Ability to read, write & speak the English language
· Ability to read and interpret blue prints & micrometers would be helpful
**We will train the right person**
This is a full time 2nd shift position. Monday-Thursday 3:00pm to 12:00am, Friday 2:00pm to 6:00pm plus rotating weekends (day shift). Must be able to train on a first shift.
