Job Description:
This is a working lead position for the non-welding production activities in a job shop. Meet assigned production schedule goals, specifications and quality requirements, and production time estimates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Production Manager for cost effective use of workforce and equipment, delegate responsibilities as needed to maintain flow of jobs to completion.
- Perform production activities as needed to fill in as back up operator for various operations, and to assist in production activities hands on.
- Monitor efficiencies to ensure pre-weld departments are running effectively and safely
- Provide expertise in machining area with set up and operation of HAAS vertical machining centers
- Gain thorough understanding of the quality requirements of each job.
- Communicate status of workflow per jobs meeting deadlines, ask for support as needed including bringing up issues promptly.
- Perform quality control inspections
- Provide training as needed to align with pathways and development of employees
- Execute receiving and material organization, coordinating with Production Manager and delegation of those duties as needed.
- Delegation of material delivery to work stations for efficiency.
- Assess workload to efficiently schedule while being adaptable if unexpected changes occur
- Support good work behavior and make corrections where needed. Work with management to resolve difficult situations.
- Collaborate with other departments ensuring clear communication and coordination

Required skills and experience
- 5 years of experience of managing in sheet metal fabrication environment
- Expert print reading ability
- Proficient in performing quality control inspections
- Ability to set up new jobs efficiently working together with the other fabricators/operators
- Background and knowledge in fabrication processes (horizontal band saw, machining, plasma, grinding, finishing, lasers, punch press and brake press)
- Requires standing, walking, crouching, bending and moving throughout entire shift.
- Requires ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 70 occasionally.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
