POSITION OPPORTUNITY
The Associate Project Leader provides functional management and technical leadership of on-site Field work for small jobs or projects. An Associate Project Leader also serves as a back-up for Project Leaders in the event they are unavailable by leading the execution of work, proper documentation, and customer service in their absence.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- All responsibilities of Senior Technician
- Successfully completed Tech to PL classroom training
- Troubleshoot minor equipment failures and solve mixture problems
- Run small projects without supervision, i.e. gel application and single circuit piping systems and vessels
- Step in on small jobs in Project Leader’s absence
- Serve as a mentor to Associate Technicians and Field Technicians
Qualifications
Education/Training/Certifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- OSHA Certification Required
- Possess a valid Medical DOT Certificate
- Technical Training or AA Degree preferred
- HAZWOPER, Confined Space Certifications are preferred
Related Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience as Technician within Astro Pak
Overtime: Willing and able to work significant overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, documents, correspondence and memos.
- Effective communication skills which include verbal and written in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to wear a respirator as needed
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Should be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Moderate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
License: Possess a valid class “C” driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Will be exposed to dust, fume, smoke, toxic chemicals and disagreeable odors
- Noisy conditions periodically
- Wet or humid conditions (indoors)
- Working on ladders, rooftops, bucket trucks, scaffolding, etc.
- Exposed to vibration (i.e. operating jackhammer, impact wrench)
- Periodically improperly illuminated or awkward and confining workspace.
