POSITION OPPORTUNITY
This position supports Astro Pak’s facility through effective maintenance and stewardship of equipment and repair assets. The Maintenance and Facilities Technician II is responsible for facility maintenance and upkeep of grounds and equipment.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- All responsibilities of Maintenance Technician I
- Assists in handling and management of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste streams
- Perform recurring assessments of waste collection areas. Identify and correct discrepancies in handling, labeling and storage
- Assist in preparation for transport/disposal of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste streams
- Respond to leaks, spills, and other emergency conditions in coordination with facility leadership
- Support execution of capital and expense projects to include participation in planning with management, support of contractor efforts, and direct execution of tasks
- Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment and infrastructure, including but not limited to fire extinguishers, eyewash and safety shower stations, production equipment, and powered freight handling equipment.
- Update documentation and logs as appropriate to show compliance with preventative maintenance requirements
- Perform recurring inspections of safety, housekeeping, and material condition and complete appropriate documentation
- Assist with Facility & Maintenance Supervisor in coordination with contractors for outsourced maintenance requirements
Other Duties / Responsibilities
- Maintains work area clean to CEO (Clean, Efficient, Organized)/5S Standards
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Competence to comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
- Ability to don proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Analyze and implement projects in compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws
- Other duties as assigned by Facility & Maintenance Supervisor
Qualifications
Education/Training/Certifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Secondary certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, or other maintenance disciplines highly desired.
Related Experience: 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance required; experience in chemical use and storage preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be able to read, understand, and interpret work instructions and technical drawings.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in small group situations to other employees within the organization
- Medium level knowledge of 110V/208V/480V single and three-phase power, gas and high purity water systems, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting required.
- Ability to objectively evaluate conformance of product, materials, and personnel actions to standardized instructions.
- Must be able to support team members in a positive manner while setting an exceptionally high standard in support of Quality goals.
- Legal capacity to comply with federally mandated requirements of the U.S. Export Control Laws.
