Astro Seal is a manufacturing company that specializes in precision machined glass to metal seal connectors with strong emphasis on quality. Our company is currently seeking an experienced, hands-on Machine Shop Foreman to manage the machine shop team, multi axis turning and milling centers with FANUC controls while maintaining safe work conditions. Must be able to interpret drawings, set up and run production to fabricate precision components, and inspect machined components. Those who have experience with close tolerance machining on alloys such as Inconel, Kovar, HyMu 80 and Stainless Steel are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
- Program, set-up and operate turning and milling, in an efficient timely manner
- Run and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance conditions
- Understand and interpret print dimensions and able to self-inspect parts
- Train machine shop employees on equipment and inspection
- Complete daily procedural documentation and data entry
- Perform daily routine maintenance
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Organize and direct shop floor employees in all aspects of machine shop
- Oversee machine shop operators and ensure specification of parts are correct and are producing the strongest possible quality of work output
- Establish personnel training and development programs
- Maintain a safe working environment, set priorities of various machine tools and produce a quality part to print and on time
- Assess employees’ performance and provide constructive feedback, implement corrective and disciplinary action as warranted
Qualifications
Physical Demands
Require standing, stooping, bending, reaching, and the ability to routinely lift objects up to 30lbs and occasionally lift objects up to 50lbs. Require eye-hand coordination and dexterity sufficient to operate machinery and computer equipment. Require normal range of vision and hearing.
