JOB SUMMARY
The Subcontract Manager utilizes industry experience to translate knowledge of key commodity markets, distribution networks, transportation methods, and contract manufacturer operations into in depth analysis in proposing supply chain solutions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Negotiates and maintains Long Term Agreements with significant monetary value to achieve quality, schedule, and cost targets, coordinating with internal and external resources to define technical, quality, legal and financial requirements.
- Establishes global sources of supply and evaluates relative supplier risk, along with risk mitigation strategies. Identifies and coordinates buy in for work transfer to achieve company objectives.
- As applicable, coordinates with established contacts at ATRO companies to generate both short and long-term supply solutions.
- Builds strong relationships with supply chain partners, adapting to identified risks, incorporating joint innovation programs and furthering supplier development. Enhances customer intimacy model within the tiers of the supply chain.
- Monitors cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to optimize lowest total acquisition cost
- Coordinates supply chain issues with multiple levels of the supply chain to resolve quality, schedule, or cost problems.
- Mentor and provide guidance to other Supply Chain team members as well as early career associates, such as Supplier Quality Engineering and Operations.
- In addition to the job duties of a Subcontract Manager the CM Focal will perform the following:
- (CM Focal) will work with the Contract Manufacturer to mitigate component shortages, employing company processes and guidelines as well as search tools subscribed to by the company. This may include following the SRM / CRM process, using IHS component search system, and other shortage mitigation tools that may be created.
This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college and/or a combination of certifications (APICS and/or CPSM) and/or 8-10 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment.
- Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of supplier management strategies.
- Demonstrated understanding of FAR/DFAR and experience in assessing proposal compliance.
- Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Product Life Management (PLM) systems.
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.
- An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis.
Base salary range is $94,208 - $141,313 per year.
