Astroscale U.S. Inc. is currently seeking a GEO Life Extension (LEX) Services Senior Mission Systems Engineer to join our team in our Denver, Colorado location. In this role you will be a key technical point of contact with the GEO operational customer to develop, communicate and deliver LEX solutions. Working closely with the development team you will support trades, inform design decisions, assess technical risk and mitigations to ensure mission success. You will be integral to delivery of LEX solutions as we together develop the on-orbit servicing eco-system that will deliver our vision of a sustainable space environment.
Job Description
- Work closely with LEX customers to understand and develop the mission concept, then define the technical solution for their mission.
- Model mission unique scenarios to define the mission CONOPS, profile and performance including orbital and attitude constraints.
- Document and manage service-level constraints and requirements throughout the life of the contract.
- Define and agree the statements of work (SOW) with customers as part of pre-contract work.
- Lead technical exchange meetings with customers as part of mission delivery.
- Support customer reviews.
- Coordinate between operations and ground teams to support mission-unique requirements.
- Engage with Astroscale engineering team and outside contractors to drive vehicle and mission compatibility.
- International travel (< 25%) will be expected to support meetings with the customer.
Qualifications
- Hands on experience with all aspects of the GEO satellite system life cycle, from design to test to operations.
- Demonstrated experience with GEO satellite mission operations including command and control, flight dynamics and communications.
- Experience leading teams in definitions of systems solutions
- Experience delivering complex satellite systems to customers through operations
- Mastery of writing and presentation to customers – particular expertise in conveying complicated concepts easily to others.
- Proven experience working with, and in, other cultures.
- Organize and balance work assignments to meet established timetables and priorities.
- Collaborative communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experienced professional with greater than 12 years’ experience in engineering and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree minimum, Master’s degree or PhD preferred in science, technology, engineering or math, or equivalent experience.

Salary range: $155-185k. The salary range represents the low and high end of the Astroscale U.S. Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, knowledge, and ability as applicable to the role.
