The Head of Accounting and Tax plays a crucial role in ensuring tax and accounting compliance while supporting cash management for the company. This position will have direct management of the AR and AP departments and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company's objectives while safeguarding the financial stability.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the timely preparation of monthly and annual (consolidated) financial statements, including notes, in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS
- Ensure implementation and application of group-wide accounting policies
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards
- Supervise and mentor AP and AR staff to foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls related to tax, AP, and AR processes
- Accounting related projects and special issues such as M&A and implementation of new accounting standards
- Point of contact for international accounting issues
- Liaise with auditors and external consultants
- Liaise with Head of Financial Controlling (e.g. liquidity forecasts and preparation of budgets and forecasts)
- Oversee the state income and federal consolidated tax returns for our US entities, including data gathering, managing, and reviewing returns
- Overall responsibility for all areas of Tax including: CIT, Sales Tax and Transfer Pricing in cooperation with tax consultants and Sport Group headquarters
- Preparation and calculation of direct and deferred taxes in cooperation with tax consultants
- Monitoring changes in tax law and analysis of possible impacts on the company’s tax exposure
- Leading state and federal tax audits in cooperation with tax consultants
- Reconciliation of tax data with financial statements
- Provide technical accounting guidance and expertise
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA required
- Experience: Proven experience in accounting and tax management
- Strong financial analysis skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and financial risk management
- Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute tax and cash management strategies in line with organizational goals
- Integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial information
