Responsibilities & Activities
- Direct Quality Representative working with aerospace and defense customer base dealing with all quality related issues and activities
- Respond to customer’s RC, CA & PA requests
- Maintain and validate supplier’s CARs from both internal and external customers.
- Maintain Quality Procedure compliance throughout the facility
- Perform new part review and drive design-for-quality activities.
- Review, approve and submit First Article Inspection reports per AS9102 to Net Inspect.
- Manage major program manufacturing process qualification.
- Review nonconformance reports for dispositioning of rework, scarp or submit for MRB approval
- Develop process flow charts/diagrams and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) for PPAP submittals to customer.
- Create statistically valid control plans for manufacturing processes.
- Use lean and six sigma tools to drive process and product variation reduction.
- Drive manufacturing process capability improvements through variation reduction, error-proofing, and implementation of statistical process control.
- Collect and analyze quality data to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement of parts and processes.
- Conduct and participate in the internal and external quality system, process, and product audits.
- Support Planning and Programming Engineering as well as Production and Manufacturing Personnel.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Quality Director.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience in aerospace.
- Experience with various raw materials, manufacturing processes, and quality inspection criterion.
- Processes (machining, heat treating, anodizing, painting, NDT, etc.). Experience with flight critical components/systems is a plus.
- Understanding of major aerospace prime customer requirements.
- Six sigma tools and methodology; green belt or black belt experience is a plus.
- Lean manufacturing practices to improve product/process quality is a plus.
- Excellent problem solving skills aimed at identifying and correcting the root causes of problems
- Demonstrated working knowledge of problem solving tools: 8-D CAs.
- Familiar with AS9100, ISO 9001, QMS requirements is a plus
- Demonstrate ability to create and implement statistically process control plans.
- Working ability of inspection metrology and proper application of automated measuring equipment
- Understanding of GD&T is a plus
- Ability to create and/or review inspection reports and perform dimensional tolerance stack up analyses
- Thorough understanding of Word, Excel, and Power Point.
