Design Draftsman
Position Overview :
Seeking a highly engaged, team-oriented individual with a working background in computer-aided drafting principles. This role creates and updates drawings used in electrical construction packages (i.e. single lines, wiring diagrams, plan drawings, etc.). The position works directly with other department personnel as needed to clarify the intent of designer and / or engineer sketches. This role maintains supplemental project documentation including cable schedules and vendor cut sheets. This position may require occasional site visits and other related tasks to meet project needs. This position reports to a Supervisor of Design and Documentation and functions as an intermediate-level draftsman for the electrical design group.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Understand and employ personal safety practices at all times.
- Become familiar with and employ environmental compliance at all times.
- Prepare electrical drawings in support of power generation engineering projects per corporate standards.
- General electrical design support for the power generation fleet (i.e. equipment, cable / raceway, and drawing number support)
- Maintain drawing records per corporate and compliance policies.
- Coordinate site visits and perform field work, as necessary.
