Student Strategic Research Analyst

The Student Strategic Research Analyst serves in partnership with the ASU Foundation for a New American University’s Corporate Philanthropy team by conducting research and providing logistical support to guide corporate engagement at ASU. The position offers a unique opportunity to develop skills in corporate partnership development, philanthropic research, and event and project management.
This position will require approximately 10-22 hours per week.
What you'll do:
Conduct in-depth research on individual executives and corporations, utilizing confidential files and print, electronic, and online resources.
Formulate market scans and landscape analyses to identify major trends in corporate philanthropy.
Assist in planning and coordinating corporate tours and events, including logistics, scheduling, and preparation of materials prior to campus visits.
Participate in the execution of high-level events, including corporate gift announcements and company visits to campus.
Stay up to date on current events, regularly monitor news stories, press releases, and other online sources and communicate pertinent information to the broader team.
Prepare presentations, reports, and other graphic materials to share with prospective Uphold all fundraising and prospect research professional standards and expectations.
Assist with reporting needed for corporate gifts, including tracking impact and outcomes. Work across academic units and enterprises to create complex reports in a streamlined fashion.
Collaborate with team members to prepare outreach materials, including invitations, follow-up emails, and engagement proposals for corporate donors and prospects.
Help maintain corporate records in Salesforce, including logging engagements and tracking the progress of gift opportunities. Offer strategic insights into the team’s portfolio and show areas for potential synergies.
Serve as a liaison between the Corporate Philanthropy team and other ASU units while coordinating joint efforts for donor engagement.
Analyze, interpret, and summarize corporate financial reports, philanthropic disclosures, and giving trends to assess potential alignment with ASU’s initiatives and priorities.

Excellent customer relations skills, communication, and follow-through.
Learning mindset with a willingness and desire to spend time researching various topics.
Ability to prepare and deliver presentations on various research topics/skills to the team.
Interest and experience in event planning and making agendas. Ability to coordinate across key stakeholders’ schedules and multitask across multiple projects.
Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint). Experience with Salesforce and Asana is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing.
Ability to work both independently and in a team.
Ability to take initiative and set priorities while being flexible.
Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties.
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Foundation and University business and confidential prospect information.
Ability to commit to working at least two consecutive semesters.
Graphic design skills as this position will support in producing presentations, reports, and other high-level graphic materials to help prospective donors learn more about ASU.
An ability to understand dynamic, interrelated concepts and ASU connections to news, events, and organizations.
An interest in philanthropy and fundraising, particularly in the corporate sector.
Organizational skills, ability to keep team files and digital workspaces organized.
Relevant Qualifications:
A current undergraduate or graduate student at Arizona State University.
Willing to sign and abide by a confidentiality agreement.
