What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal position at Asurion?
The Paralegal will assist legal staff and attorneys with a variety of projects on an as needed basis and maintain certain records and filings on a regular basis. This position will report to an attorney in the Legal Department but will take direction from multiple legal staff and attorneys in the Nashville office.

- Perform a variety of Legal Department administrative duties
- Maintain Legal Department files in an electronic database that serves as a repository for all matters handled by the Legal Department
- Assist legal staff in responding to outside requests for information, including production of documents in response to law enforcement, subpoenas, and litigation requests for production
- Assist attorneys as needed in their day-to-day activities, including general administrative support, as required by business and legal needs
- Utilize a variety of automated legal research tools as well as public information databases and other automated resources to research case or program specific legal matters
- Field and respond to document retrieval requests from internal clients
- Other duties and projects, as required by business and legal needs
- Undergraduate degree with strong academic background. Paralegal certification preferred, but will consider comparable experience in lieu of certification
- Experience working as a paralegal supporting litigation and/or employment lawyers a plus
- Expert skills in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Superior attention to detail, proofreading skills and problem solving capabilities
- Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs
- Must show initiative and be willing to take ownership of projects
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize effectively, be flexible and work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with minimal supervision and rapidly shifting priorities
- Experience with drafting contracts, legal memoranda and other legal documents and compiling and maintaining litigation files a plus
- Ability to perform legal research in Lexis/Nexis and /or West Law
- Knowledge of legal terminology preferred
