Job Summary
I am seeking a live in companion for my grandmother, she is 89 in July, we are looking to find someone to do light house keeping, some cooking, and sit with her during the day to make sure she eats and takes her medication. For compensation we are offering a free room in exchange for these services. No rent, no utilities. You will have your own room and bathroom.

Duties

• Provide companionship and emotional support to my grandmother
• Assist grandmother with daily living activities, including cleaning, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Support memory care initiatives by utilizing techniques that enhance cognitive function. Do actives with her.
• Observe and report any changes in residents’ behavior or health to my aunt or myself
• Assist with patient mobility and transfers as needed, ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a nursing home or long-term care facility is preferred.
• Knowledge of memory care practices and patient observation techniques.
• Certification in CPR is a plus.
• Provide basic patient care.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with families.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is beneficial.
• A compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others.
• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in social work or related fields is advantageous.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
