Billing Assistant

Job Overview:
As a Billing Assistant, you will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate data entry and resolving any discrepancies that may arise. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will be crucial in maintaining financial integrity.
Responsibilities:
1) Assist the office staff as requested.
2) Comply with any and all HIPPA, State, and Managed Care Organization (MCO) regulations.
3) Communicate with Billing and Reconciliation Manager and the Main office to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, and address complaints.
4) Compile, copy, sort and file records of consumers, employee’s, office activities, and other activities.
5) Greet, assist and / or direct visitors, and the general public.
6) Operate office equipment, such as photocopiers, scanners, fax machines, voice mail systems, and computer systems.
7) Maintain office well-ordered and clean.
8) Travel to Satellite office’s to perform similar duties.
9) Enter data (such as dollar amounts), obtained from different insurance portals, onto a billing sheet.
10) Making sure the billed and paid amounts match as closely as possible, and indicate any discrepancy.
11) Entering authorization information on to the billing sheet.
12) Keeping track of all authorization end dates.
13) Ensuring all codes, including but not limited to G9006 and S5110, are billed in a timely manner.
14) Ensuring that all offices train employees in a timely manner so that S5110 code can be billed.
15) Confirming claims on Authenticare, on a weekly basis.
16) Any Information pertaining to At-Home Personal Care is Property of At-Home Personal Care Services LLC. (No Exceptions)
17) Assist in all areas of the Electronic Voice Verification System.
18) Assist with payment reconcile and report payment denials to management.
19) Promptly fulfill any set goals and tasks by Upper Management.

Qualifications:
-Experience working with Centennial Care/Turquoise Care
-Experience working with NM AuthentiCare
-Knowledgeable with New Mexico Medicaid
- Proficiency in data entry and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of debits and credits principles.
- Previous experience in financial services or related fields is beneficial.
- Strong phone etiquette skills for effective communication.
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service while handling billing inquiries.
