Job Overview
The Material Controller is responsible for managing the flow of materials and inventory within the company's warehouse, ensuring accurate tracking, timely delivery of supplies to technicians and locations, and maintaining proper stock levels by receiving, storing, and issuing materials while adhering to company policies and safety regulations; this role often involves close collaboration with purchasing, operations, and field teams to meet service demands across Alaska. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
Responsibilities
- Receiving and inspecting incoming materials, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders
- Maintaining accurate inventory records using company systems, performing regular stock checks and cycle counts
- Managing warehouse space efficiently to store materials safely and accessibly.
- Processing material requests from technicians and other departments, ensuring timely delivery to required locations
- Coordinating with logistics providers for delivery of materials to remote areas of Alaska
- Package materials appropriately for transport and handling in challenging weather conditions
- Adhering to company policies and procedures including inventory management, safety, work culture and quality control
- Maintain proper housekeeping in work areas
- Position will use assorted vans and trucks and involves walking, carrying and driving long distances, also stocking, lifting, and sorting freight.
- Loading and hauling heavy equipment to include Bull Dozers, Excavators, Skid Steers, and other tracked equipment.
Experience
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices
- Experience working in a warehouse environment
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and computer applications
- Strong computer skills and possess strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds multiple times per day
- Experience with packaging and shipping material
- Knowledge of the hazardous shipping rules and regulations
- Must be able to operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment
- State or Alaska Class A Driver License

Pay: $32.47 - $46.41 per hour
