Job Summary
The ATA Career Education Nursing Program in Tulsa, OK is looking for energetic, dedicated, and experienced nurses to teach in our Pre-Licensure Practical Nursing Program. Experience as an RN for a minimum of 2 years is required. Teaching experience is preferred but not required. This is a day-time position and we are willing to train the right talented and committed individuals.
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Motivate the students to actively participate in their educational process through lecture and instruction, while teaching the principles and application of physical, biological and psychological subjects related to nursing.
- Supervise student nurses and demonstrate patient care in clinical and skills lab arenas.
- Prepares and administers examinations, evaluations student progress, and maintains records of students, classroom, and clinical experience.
- Participates in curriculum implementations and meetings.
- Identify and refer students for tutoring and remediation when appropriate.
- Submit grades in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate capacity to teach and facilitate a diverse and cultural mix of students
- Demonstrate competency in preparation and follow-up on all daily teaching assignments.
- Utilize methods that combine didactic, skills, and critical thinking combinations whenever possible to ensure understanding of concepts and relevance.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge, development and implementation of tests, examinations, and other forms of learning measurement appropriate to the course or field.
- Work with the Nursing Program Director to create, and update course and instructional material on a regular basis.
- Identify the course sequencing and laddering process for courses and programs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher preferred (ADN required)
- Prior teaching experience in a School of Nursing desired, but not required
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Registered Nurse
- Active Ok RN License
