ATA Services, Inc is currently seeking to hire a Helpline Representative to work on a temporary assignment with the State of New Mexico – Vital Records.

  • Pay Rate: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on experience; weekly pay.
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
  • Assignment ends: June 30, 2025

Job Summary:

The Helpline Representative will serve as the first point of contact for individuals reaching out to

the New Mexico Vital Records Office. This role requires answering inquiries, providing information, and assisting with vital records requests such as birth, death, marriage, and divorce

certificates. When necessary, the representative will escalate or transfer complex cases to the

appropriate department or personnel.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inbound calls, chat requests, and inquiries related to vital records services.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to customers regarding vital records requests,
  • procedures, and requirements.
  • Record and track interactions in the appropriate system.
  • Troubleshoot basic issues and provide effective solutions to customers.
  • Transfer or escalate more complex inquiries to the appropriate personnel or department.
  • Maintain knowledge of current vital records policies and procedures.
  • Assist with navigating the state’s online portal or system for vital record requests.
  • Follow established protocols for confidentiality and data security.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal team members and external stakeholders to ensure smooth
  • operations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college or related work experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Excel for communication and record-keeping.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and customer service-driven environment.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of calls and inquiries while maintaining accuracy and
  • professionalism.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Previous experience in customer service or answering helplines, especially in government or
  • public health settings, is a plus.
  • Experience with vital records or public health information systems is a plus.
