Description : Essential Functions
- Works from blueprints, sketches, and charts.
- Prepares bills of materials required for jobs to be performed.
- Selects tools and materials most suitable for job.
- Sets up and operates wood working tools and equipment as required to cut, finish, and form materials for the job.
- Uses variety of hand tools to form, fabricate, finish, erect, dismantle, repair and refinish structures and equipment.
- Install and replace broken glass.
- Erects scaffolds and safety barriers.
- Prepares surfaces for painting and applies paint by brush or spray.
- Constructs forms, reinforces, pours and finishes concrete. Repairs brick and block and sewer pipe.
- Stencils signs. Maintains paint and materials stock, cleans and stores equipment after use.
- Sandblast surface with portable equipment as required.
- Makes minor adjustments and repairs to power tools. Sharpens and maintains hand tools.
- Keeps the working area in a clean and orderly condition.
- May perform simple self-service type maintenance on transportation vehicles.
- Repairs and installs insulation on lines, valves, vessels, instruments and other plant equipment.
- Transports materials and equipment as needed by truck or scooter.
- Performs ordinary rigging as necessary.
- Cut, form, install and repair heating and air conditioning duct work.
- Installs insulating brick and tile in boilers and kilns.
- Remove asbestos insulation and use decontamination equipment and safety equipment.
- Perform all tasks per job safe practices and adhere to the rules of conduct.
Requirements :
Highschool diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years of previous work experience in the field or related
Required to pass a entry level test
