Atalco Gramercy Operations is the leading producer of Alumina in the United States. Our Gramercy refinery produces 1.2 million tons a year of smelter grade alumina (SGA) for the production of aluminum as well as chemical grade alumina (CGA) which is used in a wide array of industrial applications.
We are currently seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician for our Gramercy, LA refinery.
Job Summary / Objective
This position is responsible for analyzing and performing preventative maintenance inspections and services on various machines and equipment on site. He / She will report to the Reliability Manager and interface with the Vibrations Analysts, Maintenance Supervisors, and Operations Supervisors.
Essential Functions
- Manually collect vibration data using a commtest handheld data collector.
- Manually collect monthly oil samples.
- Perform infrared surveys to gather temperature profiles of various equipment.
- Must have basic understanding of pumps, gearboxes, turbines, compressors, fans, conveyors, electric motors, and other types of rotating equipment.
- Must have basic understanding of lubricating oil and grease
- Has to be proficient in problem solving and have a basic understanding of process systems.
- Proficient in written communications.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must have Safety Awareness.
