Overview & Job-Related Duties
ATC is seeking a Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) technician assistant to join our field division. We are offering an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to ensuring the quality and safety of our services. This position will be responsible for carrying out various code and/or customer required non-destructive examinations and testing. This includes both the application of a specific method as well as interpretation of the resulting data and completion of a formal report on the results. Assist the certified technician during NDT inspections, completing assigned tasks, and pursuing NDT certifications while gaining practical experience in different NDT techniques. Entry-level or experienced NDE technician applicants are welcome.
Basic Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Pass a drug screening and background check
- Must be able to successfully complete Classroom/OJT hours as required by ASNT-TC-1A (or equivalent) for Level II Training.
- Strong oral/written communication and decision-making skills.
- Excellent work ethic.
- Detail- and customer-oriented.
- Team-oriented and professionally minded.
- Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Readily acts on challenges with a “can do” attitude.
- Willingness to ask questions and listen to others to gain a better understanding.
- Accept assignments that broaden capabilities.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Enter confined spaces.
- Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and occasional crawling.
- Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of inspection equipment.
- Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions.
- Repetitive hand movements during inspection operations.
- Potential travel of up to 60% yearly within the US.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Job Type:

- Hybrid (Onsite & Remote)
Schedule
- 40% Remote: Monday – Friday / 40hrs weekly
- 60% Travel: Days and hours are based on the customer’s needs.
- Some weekends
- Based on busy season / Schedule requirements can fluctuate.
Pay:
- Based on experience
- Bi-Weekly
- Nightly Per-Diem when traveling
