IT Specialist

Atchison County- IT Specialist- Location: On-Site / 10443 US 59 Atchison, KS 66002

Position Summary

The IT Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems, and providing technical support to our staff. This role involves documenting, maintaining, upgrading, or replacing hardware and software systems, and supporting user account information. This position requires three to five years of help desk, desktop, or network technical support experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Work is performed with a substantial degree of independence and initiative within the framework of prescribed policies and procedures and under the general supervision of the IT Director.

Essential Functions

· Provide first-level technical support to employees, addressing hardware, software, and network issues.

· Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems, including workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and software programs.

· Documentation of IT assets, configurations, and procedures.

· Install, upgrade, configure, and maintain hypervisors, virtual servers, storage appliances, routers, switches, and firewalls.

· Setup and deploy workstations, laptops, and other IT equipment for new and existing employees.

· Support major IT projects such as the replacement of virtual and physical servers, network devices, and other hardware appliances. Configure new services and migration of existing services.

· Make recommendations on the specifications, purchasing, fielding, and life cycle of all information technology related goods and services.

· Report operational problems through effective communication with IT leadership and departments as needed.

· Give continuing and meticulous attention to detail.

· Exhibit positive attitude towards position, co-workers, supervisory personnel and members of the public.
