POSITION SUMMARY
As an IT professional for our firm, you will be a member of the team responsible for managing and maintaining the hardware, software, and IT infrastructure to ensure seamless firm operations. The IT Specialist will work closely with the firm's IT Coordinator to provide comprehensive internal IT support. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hardware, cloud infrastructures, and software systems, as well as the ability to provide troubleshooting support, implement technology solutions, and ensure the overall security of our IT environment. THIS IS AN ON-SITE ROLE IN AUSTIN, TEXAS.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- End User Support

- Manage end user onboarding and offboarding
- Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution directly related to user issues.
- Monitor support tickets to ensure a timely and effective resolution.
- Software/Application Management

- Coordinate installation, configuration, updates, and troubleshooting of the firm’s software and applications.
- Oversee software licensing, monitor renewals, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Support and facilitate user training for software applications.
- Hardware Management
-
- Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, printers, audiovisual equipment, and other peripheral devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware issues promptly, documenting and escalating as necessary.
- Manage asset inventory, including tracking hardware and placing hardware orders.
- Coordinate recycling, disposal, repair, and warranty management for retired or faulty equipment.
- Cloud Environment Management

- Coordinate with the IT Coordinator and third-party IT providers to maintain and support the firm’s Citrix infrastructure.
- Provide Citrix-related troubleshooting and user support.
- Network & Security

- Provide cybersecurity training, manage phishing tests, and security awareness initiatives.
- Regularly review security tools and quarantines including KnowBe4 PhishER, PasswordIQ, Microsoft Defender, and Sophos.
- Vendor Management

- Collaborate with the IT Coordinator to liaise with external vendors and service providers, resolving issues and procuring technology solutions.
- Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT infrastructure, software versions, configurations, and troubleshooting resolutions.
Provide regular reports to the partner group on IT system health, incidents, and improvements.

- Innovation/Migration

- Assist in research, evaluation, and implementation of new technologies and software.
- Participate actively in software migration projects.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar role.
Computer Skills:
- Microsoft Windows (Desktop and Server), required
- Microsoft 365 (Admin Center, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams), required
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Identity, required
- Sophos Endpoint Protection or similar antivirus solutions, required
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), required
- Collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom), required
- Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, preferred
- Azure Active Directory basics, preferred
- Fundamental networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), preferred
- Firewall basics (configuration, monitoring), preferred
Certificates & Licenses (Preferred):
- CompTIA A , Network , Security
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals
Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
The base compensation for this position is $70,000-$80,000, DOE.
