ATCO Is looking for Central Office Equipment Installers (COEI) within the Southern Oregon area (Eugene, South) to assist with equipment installation and decommissioning projects.
ATCO is looking for Central Office Equipment (COE) Installers within the Southern Oregon Markets (Eugene, South), to assist with equipment installation and decommissioning projects. This installation/decommissioning work includes Broadband and Transport equipment, Border Router host devices, Optical Line Terminals along with all the critical infrastructures within a central office and customer locations. We are looking for applicants who demonstrate a degree of experience with performing basic installation tasks such as the mounting of equipment, cable racks, fiber distribution panels, fiber jumpers including MIC cables, rectifiers, power distribution panels, power cables and battery installations. Successful candidates need to have the ability to perform circuit provisioning, maintenance and testing (DS1/DS3/SONET), and test equipment. The COE Installer is responsible for providing high-quality service at both central office and customer locations.

Performs basic installation tasks such as mounting of equipment, cable racks, fiber distribution panels, fiber jumpers including MIC cables, rectifiers, power cable installation and battery installations.
Working knowledge of Customer Installation Standards and Documentation – Frontier / Ziply
Working knowledge of connections including standard data connection, punch down, wire wrap, screw type and similar standard data and telephony terminations
Performs equipment inventory and reconciliation functions associated with assigned projects
Experience with data network installations and testing equipment
Perform site surveys.
Adheres to Customer Safety Policy and Customer Security Procedures
Experience with a variety of network switches, routers, optical devices, and peripheral equipment is a plus
Experience with the installation of Adtran TA Series, Nokia FX, Juniper MX, Ciena Z series equipment a plus
Other Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Four (4) to six (6) years of experience in central office environment
One (1) to two (2) years of Central Office Equipment Installation experience is preferred
Candidates must be able to pass a Background Check and Drug Screen, post offer
Requires own reliable transportation and the ability to transport minor job-related tools and equipment to work locations. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record, with proof of auto insurance
Requires the physical ability to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stop, kneel or crouch, talk and hear. Will be required to climb a ladder and must be able to perceive differences in colors. Also requires the ability to lift weights from 5 – 50 pounds and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds.
